Baptism for Adults

Baptism for Adults

For baptismal purposes, “adults” are considered to be those who are 18 years of age or older.

When adults begin considering the possibility of baptism there are often many questions accompanying this desire…as well as a wealth of life experience. To provide a place where an individual’s questions of faith and life experience can come together with others the Catholic community has developed the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, also known as the RCIA. The RCIA is a journey in and of faith that welcomes people at whatever stage of religious experience they find themselves. With the companionship of those already baptized, the person walks the steps of faith needed to arrive with spiritual maturity at the baptismal font.

For more information on the RCIA process please visit ourĀ RCIA page or contact Barbara Murphy the parish Director of the right of Christian Initiation.
