Chess Club meets on Monday afternoons at 3:00. The Beginner class meets in Miss Newton's 1st Grade classroom, the Intermediate group assembles in the Multipurpose Room in the Parish Center and the Advanced class is held in the Church Classroom. Beginner and Intermediate classes end at 4:00 and the Advanced class ends at 4:30. Jack Peters teaches for 30 minutes in each of the three classes.

In addition to the Monday afternoon classes, Chess Club has branched out to play other schools for a series of Fun Matches. So far, our opponents have included John Thomas Dye, Westwood Charter and Brentwood. St. Paul's hosts the other schools and they, in turn, invite us to play at their school. In order to participate, St. Paul the Apostle students do not need to be regular Chess Club members.

Members

There are currently 75 students enrolled in the Chess Club, with 25 students each in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Classes.
