Chess Club

St. Paul the Apostle School is very pleased to be offering a 26th year of the Chess Club.  Ms. Ivona Jezierska will be instructing the children this year. She is a highly accomplished player in her own right and is a Chess Master. In addition to Chess Club, Ms. Jezierska teaches Critical Thinking in the classroom in grades K-4.

The Chess Club offers three levels of play, based on ability, so that the children can progress and be in a competitive environment without being overwhelmed.  Absolute novices are welcome.

The tuition for chess has not changed in the last 5 years and remains at $75 per child per trimester and the Chess Club runs throughout the academic year.

Parents volunteer to help keep order and provide oversight while the children play chess with one another. Knowledge of chess is not necessary and it is expected that all parents will volunteer during the trimester.

The children will have the opportunity to play in several tournaments throughout the year and the year culminates in a club celebration and awards ceremony.
