St. Paul the Apostle School is a Catholic school serving 540 students in grades K-8, located in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, CA. The school was established by the Paulist Fathers and the Daughters of Mary and Joseph in 1935 and has served children of all faiths and neighborhoods throughout Greater Los Angeles. In the decades since its founding, the school has expanded from six classrooms to 16, also adding a science lab, library, choir/music room, reading lab, Art Literacy Studio and athletic department. Today it is the only Catholic K-8 school on the Westside — and one of only four schools in the Archdiocese — to offer double classrooms at every grade level.
St. Paul the Apostle School offers a rigorous education of the whole person. We are especially noted for an unusually strong and diverse curriculum, with full-time teachers in fine art, Spanish and music, as well as a robust physical education program. A high priority is placed on technology and our resources and curriculum is geared towards 21st century learning. St. Paul’s is dedicated to preparing students to become discerning and motivated learners, ready for success in high school, college and life.
Our parent group, Parents Working for Children (PWC), takes an active and vibrant part in the support of the school. Through organizing volunteers for playground help, hot lunch service, environmental awareness and initiatives, fundraising, parent & student events and so much more, the PWC plays an important leadership role in our community.
We are currently in the middle of an expansion project to construct a new 35,000 square foot Learning Center designed for advanced learning and technology and 7,150 square foot Gymnasium. The Learning Center will replace our old middle-school building with five classrooms on the first floor and six classrooms on the second floor, which will result in a net gain of three classrooms for the campus. The new facility will also include a state-of-the-art library/learning resource and media center. The gymnasium will dramatically enrich our co-curricular capacity, supporting physical education and after-school sports programs, and enabling St. Paul to host inter-school sports and ensure recreational space is available year-round.
In October of each year we offer school tours for incoming Kindergarten-aged parents and in January we offer tours to parents whose children will be entering grades 1-8. Come visit us!
