PRAYER OF THE NATIONAL CATHOLIC MINISTRY TO THE BEREAVED

Dear God,
Thank you for listening to me —
the sorrows that bind my heart
the fears that circle endlessly in my mind
the memories that make me yearn
for yesterdays long gone.

Thank you for listening to me —
my constant pleas for relief
my quest to understand
my insecurities and self-doubt
about unknown tomorrows.

Thank you for listening to me —
as I struggle to regain life’s balance
as I cautiously take each step
as I seek to create a sense of now.

I only ask that you grace me with the patience —
to be still and hear your voice
to trust the fleeting beacons of hope
to know with a deep knowledge
that all will be well again.

Thank you for listening to me.

Help me to listen to You.

Amen
