Parish staff
Rev. John Ardis, C.S.P. Pastor
Born and raised in Ionia, Michigan. The six of seven children to Bernard and Bertha (Fehsenfeld) Ardis. Three sisters and three brothers. Graduated from Aquinas College with a BA in Religious Studies in May, 1976; served as a full-time parish director of Religious Education for eight years in the Diocese of Grand Rapids; entered the Paulist Novitiate in August, 1984; Took First Promises in August, 1985; Took Final Promises in January, 1989; Ordained a deacon in July, 1989; Ordained to the priesthood as a Paulist on May 12, 1990.
Served my deacon year in Clemson, SC; First fours years of priesthood as the associate pastor and campus minister at John XXIII University Parish at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee; served four years as the Vocation Director for the Paulist Fathers; served 8½ years as the Director of the Paulist Center in Boston, Massachusetts; and then became pastor of St. Paul the Apostle on April 15, 2007.

Rev. Joe Scott, C.S.P. Associate Pastor
Fr. Joe has been a Paulist priest since 1973. He earned a Master of Arts in Theology from St. Paul’s College (Washington, D.C.) and a Doctor of Ministry from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has served as a campus minister, parish minister, and editor at Paulist Press. Most recently he was pastor of St. Mark’s University parish in Santa Barbara.

Celeste Anlauf Director of Development
Celeste Anlauf is the Director of Development for St. Paul the Apostle Church and School. Previous fundraising experience includes California Special Olympics, The Starlight Foundation and Heart of Los Angeles Youth. Her responsibilities for the school include the St. Paul the Apostle School Educational Endowment Fund. For the Parish, Celeste works with the Finance Council in the area of Stewardship including Together In Mission. A graduate of Colorado Women’s College, Celeste is currently in the MAOM Graduate program at Antioch University.

Mary Ann Bertolucci Facilities / Ministries
Mary Ann has worked in the church office since 1997. Her work includes facilities management, bulletin and web editor, and various administrative tasks. She and her husband became familiar with St. Paul’s during their marriage preparation classes and have one daughter that graduated from St. Paul the Apostle School.

Claire Henning Pastoral Associate
Claire serves as Pastoral Associate at St. Paul’s. A Pastoral Associate is a professional minister who shares with the Pastor and the Associate Pastors the overall care of the parish. Claire is a member of the parish staff and is involved in liturgy planning, funeral counseling and planning, preparing engaged couples for marriage, retreat work and is a member of the website team. She serves as Chaplin to Kindergarten and First grades. Claire is also certified as a submitting minister for annulments in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She holds a Master in Theology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and is currently working on a D Min. through Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Irene Holly Director of Religious Education for Children (CCD)
Irene has many years of teaching experience with children, teens, and adults. Her years of ministry have been in Youth Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Confirmation, and Children’s Religious Education. She was a member of the Archdiocesan Elementary Commission and is an Archdiocesan Master Catechist and a workshop presenter at Our Lady of the Angels Regional Congress. Education: Master Catechist, RCIA certification, Human Services certification, and continuing education in theology.

Lois Massey Business Operations
Lois has worked in the parish office for twelve years. Lois works with all the financial needs of the parish: from bookkeeping to credit cards to bills and financial reporting to the finance council. She and her husband, John, have been members of the parish for over thirty years and have three sons, all of whom attended St. Paul the Apostle School.

Barbara Murphy RCIA Director and Adult Faith Formation
Barbara has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Theology from Loyola Marymount University. She is also the Los Angeles representative on the Paulist Regional Center Reconciliation Committee.

Christopher Walker Director of Music
Chris came to us in 1990 from being a cathedral director of music in England.
He has been our director of music since 2001. Chris's music is sung all over the world (much of it heard for the first time at our parish)."I want people to find a welcome in our music - every weekend, whatever their taste; music to help them pray, praise - and be challenged, too!" is his musical philosophy. Chris is a member of the parish staff and the liturgy committee.
