Advent Newsletter Religious Education for Children

Advent is the season that reminds us to prepare ourselves for the coming of our Lord.  We celebrate God becoming human and God gives us the greatest gift of all by sharing his humanity with us through Jesus.

At this time of year we create an atmosphere of hope and anticipation in the classroom for our children of Religious Education to help them prepare for Jesus’ Birthday!

Advent Calendars were sent home with the children to display at home where each day they do something special for Jesus during the Advent Season.

Our entire liturgical year is arranged by season, and each holy season consists of days and weeks of Reflection, Repentance, Prayer, Praise, Celebration and most important “GRATITUDE!”

One great gift our parents can give to their child is the gift of time!  Given the fast pace of today’s society, what might be some ways that a parent can build just a little more  time into their  child’s life?

Blessing your child every day is a wonderful gift! Praying with your child is also a wonderful ritual to be begin everyday.

The Children Religious Education classes for December are December 7 and 14.  Christmas vacation dates are: December 21, 28, and January 4.

” May the Hope of this sacred season settle in your soul.  May it be a foundation of courage for you when times of distress occupy your inner land.  May you keep your eye on the Star within you and trust this Luminescent Presence to guide and direct you each day.  May you daily open the gift of your life and be grateful for the hidden treasures it contains.”  by Joyce Rupp

Blessings to all our families as we prepare for the coming of Jesus!
