Children Religious Education May Newsletter

In the month of May we celebrate Mary, Our Blessed Mother!

The parents of the Religious Education  will celebrate “Mary” at our Prayer Service on Wednesday, May 18, at the church, 4:15PM.  The children will bring a flower to honor Mary.  They will recite one decade of the rosary and a photo of Our Blessed Mother will be taken home to place at home in Mary’s honor.

We are nearing the end of this year’s Religious Education.  The students have learned about Jesus, his teachings about love, justice, the sacraments, and about the Kingdom of God.  Each week they discuss the gospel according to their age level.  We have worked together with the parent as partners in learning about our Catholic Faith, and exploring what it means to live as  a Catholic Christian!

Our Eucharist Celebrations for our 2nd grade families of the School and Religious Education were held on April 30, May 1 and May 7.  Congratulations to all of our families of 2nd grade!

The last class for our Religious Education will  be on Wednesday, June 1st!  Registration for 2016-2017 is now taking place.  Please register early.  A registration form will be forwarded to you.

A quote for parents as we celebrate the beautiful month of May!

“  The parents’ love is the animating principle inspiring and guiding all concrete educational activity, enriching it with the values of kindness, constancy goodness, service, disinterestedness, and self-sacrifice.”   (The Role of the Christian Family in the Modern World)
