Children Religious Education Letter

Children Religious Education Letter

Lent begins on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  During Lent we will help our children during Religious Education classes better understand special ways throughout this  season on how we can fast, pray, and give alms during Lent.

One might say that the classroom is where you child hears about Jesus but your home is where you child meets Jesus and where “Love” is shared.  Your home is a small community of faith where your family lives out most meaningfully the generosity and goodness that Jesus taught. Together, we can make this Lent especially meaningful for your child.  There will be a “Lenten Service” for the children and their parents on February 10th, when Lent begins at 4:15PM at the church.

To enhance your Lenten days, there will be a “Parish Mission: Disciples of Mercy” here at St. Paul the Apostle.  It begins February 22 to 24, 2016.  I will have more information as we near the dates.  Here are some of the sessions that will take place.

Monday, February 22 – Deepening Prayer, Deepening Conversion  ( All sessions are held from 1:30 to 3:00PM and repeated in the evening, 7:30 to 8:45PM in the JCPC)

Tuesday, February 23 – At Home in God’s Words

Wednesday, February 24 – People of Service.

It will be directed by Fr. Frank Desiano, CSP, current president of the Paulist Evangelization Ministries

Blessings to you and your family as you journey through Lent!
