Principal’s Message

Principal’s Message

“Be content with what you have, for God has said,

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

So say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.”

From The Desk of Sr. Stella Maria, D.M.J. Principal:

The value we are reflecting on this week is Trust and Confidence in God and The Holy Spirit. Please use the above Scripture quote as a guide to help you help your children.

Thank you for your enthusiastic participation in Back to School Night. Please don’t hesitate to make helpful suggestions for future Back to School Nights.

As you know the Parent-Student Hand-Book comes in two Forms:

1.      Online for Parents

2.      A Hard Copy for Student. The Students’ edition has an additional section: “Weekly Values.”

On Thursday, September23rd, the Oldest or Only child will take home the Signature Card which parents and students indicate that all the signees have read and accept all School Policies, Rules and Regulations. Monday September 27th is a Late Day, which means we have a Faculty In-Service from 7:30 am to 10:00 am. There will be supervision through the Coaches Programs on the yard starting at 7:30 am. Students may arrive anytime up to 10:10 am. The school bell will ring at 10:20 am.

For grades 2 through 8. ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills) will take place starting Tuesday September 28th, and will last until Wednesday October 5th. Testing will take place in the mornings. If your child is ill DO NOT SEND him or her just to take the test. We do these tests every year. Your child’s health is more important.

Children who were absent for Picture Day will have a Make-Up session on Friday morning September 24th.

This week ends the Half Day hours for Kindergarten. We have a great Kindergarten Class and both classes are fitting into the school very smoothly.

Friday October 1st will be the last day for parents to stay on the yard during Morning Exercises. Children need their independence.
